CompTIA A+ is a widely recognised entry-level certification for IT professionals. It validates the skills needed to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot personal computers, mobile devices, operating systems, and peripherals.
The CompTIA A+ certification was created for individuals looking for a career in IT, professionals that require an understanding of IT for their jobs, and employees working in IT-based organisations. This certification is also beneficial for experienced IT professionals who wish to validate their skills and experience through an industry-recognised qualification.
The CompTIA A+ is assessed and awarded by means of 2 examinations: the Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102). These exams comprise of a maximum of 90 multiple choice (single and multiple response, drag & drop, as well as performance based) questions per exam. Each exam is 90 minutes long. You will be required to score 75% (675 out of 900) for the CompTIA A+ Core 1, and 78% (700 out of 900) for the CompTIA A+ Core 2, or higher in order to pass.
